The New York Yankees were down to their final two outs in the top of the 9th inning in Game 6, but first baseman DJ LeMahieu delivered a heroic moment when New York needed it most.
On the 10th pitch of his battle with Houston’s Roberto Osuna, LeMahieu launched a 94-mph cutter into the air in right field, barely clearing the wall for a game-tying two-run homer.
Astros fans moved back from the wall where the ball was headed and gave George Springer a chance to make a clean catch, and Springer was inches away from grabbing the ball.
Unfortunately for LeMahieu the Yankees, Houston’s Jose Altuve ended the game in the bottom of the ninth.
